Before buying or cutting

Check your measurements, usable fabric width, units, allowances, rounding and selected layout. Confirm the plan against your fabric and your quilter's requirements before buying or cutting. Starting settings do not suit every project.

The method has limits

The quilt backing planner compares two straight-panel arrangements in stable woven quilting cotton. It does not account for pattern matching, shrinkage, diagonal piecing, offcut reuse or custom seam placement. A smaller fabric quantity does not establish that a layout is suitable for a particular quilt or machine.

Accuracy and availability

We check the calculations and welcome corrections, but errors and interruptions can occur. The tools do not guarantee a finished result or replace practical advice from an experienced quilter. You are responsible for checking the plan before using it.

Changes and feedback

Tools and explanations may change as we correct issues or clarify the method. Keep the printed plan and settings for the version you used. Report problems through our contact page.
