Stitch Reckoner builds small calculators for fiber crafts — quilting, sewing, cross-stitch, and knitting. Each one shows its measurements, assumptions, and rounding so you can check the working against your own project before you cut.

Start with the assumptions

Our first tool is a quilt backing calculator and cutting planner. It shows the measurements, seam allowances, construction method, and purchase rounding behind each result.

The planner compares two straight-panel arrangements. It does not find every possible way to cut fabric, and its defaults are examples to adjust to your project.

A focused beginning

We aim to make each tool useful before adding another. Check the plan against your fabric and your quilter's requirements before cutting. The tool has not been professionally reviewed by a quilter.
